Poynting designs and manufactures Monitoring antennas for a range of applications. Monitoring antennas, whether for regulatory monitoring or tactical signal detection, require wideband performance, high sensitivity in their frequency range, and a compact form factor. Our range includes active and passive antennas.

Active antennas have some advantages in sensitivity and compactness, and can improve system performance where small size is required. Amplifier gain also helps to overcome cable and splitter losses further down the line.

Passive antennas are generally larger for the same performance, but do not have any of the drawbacks of amplification before filtering, allowing the best strong-signal performance of the overall system.

Monitoring antennas are generally omni-directional, for unattended detection of signals from any direction. However, sometimes more gain or directivity is required, to enhance or isolate the signal being detected, so a range of LPDAs is also available.
